Dreambird

Recommended Posts

Greetings all! Today I present my very first shared craft: the Dreambird Crew Vehicle! It is modelled after the real-life Dream Chaser by the Sierra Nevada Corporation. (Note the clever name change so they won't sue me)

It is essentially a LKO crew transporter, which launches on top of a rocket and glides back down to Kerbin.

Flying tips:

This is the a very early iteration of the spacecraft. I've managed to eliminate most of the instability it caused the launch rocket, but I would recommend starting your gravity turn a little late (~15 km). For some reason, Dreambird can be unstable at hypersonic speeds, so it is recommended to take it easy with the controls when reentering. If you do get into a crazy spin, disable SAS and try to manually cancel the rotation.
