one of my biggest face-palm moments in a long while

It was my first mission aimed at landing on Moho, all was going to plan. I reckoned I had enough fuel to decelerate and be captured by it and to land my three brave pioneers on the surface. I came close to my periapsis and started my 5 or so minute burn. the engines cut out after ten seconds.. WHAT?! I start to panic, clicking and unclicking resources, fuel tanks anything! then I see that the central tank is fully fueled.. but the tanks with engines are completely empty.. I hadn't placed fuel lines... There was nothing for it but to spam science before the craft got slung out into deep space so devastating

Then you'll be terribly sad to know you can transfer resources by right-clicking a piece, then alt-right clicking another piece. Tragic indeed.

yeah I later realised that when one engine didn't have fuel and the other two did.. horribly asymmetrical .. had to google it though had only seen it in videos

TAC Fuel Balancer is your friend in times like that. That mod can keep fuel flowing without needing to continuously switch between tanks manually.
