So what we have is a huge chunk of spacecraft, endless supply of xenon, a box full of old RCS thrusters, and a megalomaniac computer that demands we build him a way off this rock. Happy to oblige:

The core of the Cube. Not much to look at, is it?

Most of the frame and the floor done

Completed skeleton

RTG bank. Now we have nuclear reactors in the game, thanks to KSPInterstellar, probably time to resurrect this thing...

Complete outer skin, sans deco. Note the wheels, they're there to protect the dozens of linear RCS thrusters and the ion engines mounted underneath. Wish I'd had Firespitter at this point, that was eight tonnes I didn't have to play with but there was nothing I could do about it.

Some structural reinforcements and a couple RCS thrusters along the edges. Just a couple. Didn't want to go overboard.

More internal work, trying to bump the available electrical power for the various thrusters and engines. GIVE ME A SINGLE NUCLEAR REACTOR!!

View across the bottom of the deck. Probably a little too much fuel for the 28 ion engines(!), but hey...

...and after burning all my RCS fuel (and hardly any xenon, since ion engines only work well outside a gravity well), the mofo flies! 81 tons, that's gotta be a record for an RCS lift! Other important specs: part count - 567
