hovering from the kerbalkon livestream

i was watching the kerbalkon live stream and watched as he(i'm not sure who) built a completely unbalanced rocket and used what i thought to be rapier engines to hover it perfectly still.

am i missing something? because i cant find this feature in-game.

I believe they twitch (set) the output thrust of each engines. In percentages. Example Mainsails 50% means you will full throttle at 750kns instead of 1500kns.

Yeah that was C7. One of the engines had the thrust tweaked to balance it. Try it out in the VAB... with the Center of Thrust marker shown.

thanks guys i was wondering how he did it since i tuned in as he was hovering and i didn't get to hear how he did it.
