Hi and help on RCS Problems :P

Recommended Posts

Hi all i'm new to the forums so please be gentle.

I have a problem i hope somebody can help me with.

I'm currently in the process of building a spacestation... after finally figuring out how to dock :P

But when i undock one of my Space Tugs they seem to have lost all control over their RCS systems :X

I can only use the main engine, no turning whatsoever.

Is this a game bug or am i doing something wrong?

I searched the forums but i'm either using the wrong keywords or nobody else has this problem.

Midway station with the Athos and Artemis Space Tugs docked.

Work in progress :D

No RCS control when i undock either one of the Tugs.

And i need to figure out how fuel transfers work :sealed:

I have not heard of that RCS problem. But,

And i need to figure out how fuel transfers work

Hold ALT while Right clicking on one tank then the other tank. Then click on the "In" or "Out" button to transfer fuel.

I asume the ships hanging on the side are your tugs. I also asume the radial tanks are RCS tanks.

Do the tanks still have monopropellent? Right click them to find out

Sounds stupid, but it's quite an easy mistake to make.

Also, could you give us a close up of your tugs? Might help

To transfer fuel: Right click 1 tank, hold alt and right click another tank. Now you have both open, and some buttons apear below each fuel indication to transfer. Should speak for itself from that point

First off, welcome to the forums.

A few questions:

  • Is caps lock on? Caps lock toggles a "soft mode" on control, and in that mode it's hard to see the RCS thrust (this one has bit me before).
  • Try turning RCS on and off.
  • Check to see if the RCS thrusters are disabled or if the tanks are locked
  • I don't think I see any additional reaction wheels. Adding some could help, as RCS alone may not be providing enough thrust by itself to cause to rotate the station.
  • Check to make sure there is RCS fuel in the remaining station.

Fuel transferred work like this:

  • R-click + [Mod key*] on one RCS tank
  • R-click + [Mod key*] on the other RCS tank
  • Click in/out to transfer fuel

*The Mod key varies by OS and keyboard. On PCs the mod key is "Alt" by default.

Hope some of that helps.

Got the RCS problem solved.

Had to turn it on a few times to get control.

Unfortunatly.....

I made a bit of a boo boo...

While trying to get control back i gave a bit too much thrust :X

I rammed my station :')

It's gone a bit wonky now.....

Waiting for it to stabalize or break apart :')

Actually right click alone then alt right click the destination tank.

Both work. You need alt to select another tank, but it won't matter when you are selecting the first tank

Anyway, glad it works again. Weird that it didn't at first though. I wonder what caused it
