Is there a way to keep a vessel pointed at a celestial body?

I want to keep my low orbit solar station pointed at the sun, so that it looks like it's supposed to. Is there a way to keep it pointed at the sun, with or without mods, as well as keeping it pointed in that direction when I'm not controlling the craft(I'm not sure if MechJeb keeps Smart A.S.S. enabled when controlling other vessels)?

Short answer "No". Once lost focus from your play.(Over 2.5km from current focus) A craft is save as static in place... not even the battery is drain.

I managed to pull it off by scripting with KOS mod. I had satellites that always pointed toward Kerbin. The catch however, was this stopped working if you returned to the space center or VAB. (Because exiting stops the script execution)

So long term, the answer is no.
