I sent probe to EVE it's my absolute record i made it in 24 days:D

I set periapsis on 40 km, does is good for atmospheric entry?

Click on Eve in map mode, click one of the tabs on the right side of the screen. It shows the atmosphere height. If you are trying to aerobrake, 40km is too low. If you are going to land then that's fine.

95km If I renember correctly, standered areo-brake altitude is about 70-67km

96.1km is the altitude of the initial atmosphere interface. The dense stuff starts at 60km, so a PE of 40km your ship will be a fireball LONG before then.

The in-game info gives numbers for the atmosphere start that are incorrect; in the case of Eve, it says the atmosphere starts at 95km, but actually it's a bit higher.

It starts at 96, but you don't really get all that much braking above 80, and almost none above 90. Below 70, there's a very good chance of being captured by the atmosphere into a surface descent, unless you know for sure that you have enough speed going in.

So, my rules of thumb are 80 for a little braking, 70 for a lot of braking, roughly. Of course, if you start from something low like 100x100, even 80 will probably schedule an appointment with the surface.
