It's simple: built the fastest plane thatt can go AROUND KERBIN with enough fuel to go around again back to the KSC.

RULES

No ALT+F12.

Mechjeb is allowed.

It can be manned or unmanned, there will be separate leaderboards.

You MUST stay in the atmosphere for the entire flight (Space is 69,000 KM)

You must get back to the KSC (No landing on runway required) in 6 hours.

Planes only! This means NO Oxidizer-requiring engines.

I'm not going to enter, because I don't have my gaming computer with me, but I'm going to hazard a guess that it can be done in about 10 minutes and that the winner will carry less than about 100L of fuel, have more than 60 intakes, at least three engines, and spend most of the time coasting in the upper atmosphere.

I'm curious though, why did you define space to be 61001 m when it's actually starts at 69078 m?

Going around Kerbin as fast as possible does not match very well with sightseeing like visiting an anomaly (except the one right on KSC) or KSC2.

What about the rover? Is it ok if I drop it into the sea right after liftoff? Or is there any more detailed info where should we drop it? Carrying it around the world back to KSC does not make much sense to me.

And how does time add up with your points anyway?

You can drop the rover at the poles, or a anomaly.

I can take off, turn west and flying counter to Kerbin's rotation at ~2200m/s and 29km and cross back over KSC in 32:05. I use MechJeb's ascent guidance to fly to cruising altitude and Smart A.S.S. the rest of the time.

Landing is the tricky part, 36:06 is my best with a landing that shook a engine loose.
