Docked but no Cross-Ship Fuel Transfer

Hello,

I am having trouble transferring fuel between two docked ships. Activating small amounts of engines and RCS doesn't shake the two ships away, so I am under the assumption that I have successfully docked. I used two shielded docking ports but mod + rightclick doesn't open a transfer screen between fuel tanks on different ships. I am able to transfer fuel between two different tanks on the same ship using mod + rightclick.

Any idea what could be going on?

Yes, I'm pretty sure. I mod+click two tanks. When I do this for tanks on the same ship, it works. On different ships, nope.

You said something about a transfer screen? Do you have a mod installed that effects transfers? If so check that its up to date.

No mods installed. Only have vanilla. I meant transfer windows with the basic in/out buttons.

Assumptions:

1. Two ships are docked if they aren't drifting apart after small engine bursts and male/female docking ports seem solidly attached after being pulled together

2. Fuel can be transferred freely from a fuel tank to any other given tank when ships are docked.

Potentially Odd Features

1. I do have the female shielded docking port opened up as well.. I don't know if this causes any problems.

2. I adjusted my config file to make RightShift my mod key and I am running on Windows.

I know their is a change in how the system handles keys and key mapping now, Dvorak users are upset about this.

To verify you're successfully docked, right-click on the docking port you used to dock. You should see an Undock key in the menu that opens. If it only offers Control from Here, try the other docking port of the pair. If neither offers Undock, you're not docked, just stuck together.

Manual fuel transfer doesn't care about what parts are in between. As long as the two tanks are part of the same ship and can hold the same type of fuel, you should be able to transfer between them.

Confused by the Male/Female description. Docking ports dock like to like. Perhaps you have one on backwards?

Thank you. Turns out they weren't connecting - I wasn't connecting the parts right.

On the plus side, actual docking is a synch compared to jamming two wrong-sided ports together so hard I can burn thrusters without pulling them apart.
