Thrusters turn on automatically when switching from Docking to Staging modes

Hey guys I've been learning how to dock today and I'm really loving how docking mode works but I realized once I change from docking to staging mode my thrust is put at half power. This has become really annoying because sometimes when I switch between the two modes while aligning for rendezvous the jump to half thrust will push me way off course (or worse throw the space station offorbit if I'm already docked)

Why does this happen? How can it be avoided?

My guess:

In docking mode, Shift is used for translation forward. In normal mode, Shift is used to increase thrust. You might be forgetting to lift your finger from the key (or the key remains stuck) when you switch modes.

I have not found docking mode particularly useful for docking, it's much more comfortable to me to have both rotation (WASDQE) and translation (IJKLHN) available and dock in normal mode.

Docking mode is useful for rovers, though.

Docking mode has the nice benefit of allowing you to hit spacebar to change between pitch/yaw/roll movements and translation movements which allows you to only worry about the wasdqe, shift and control keys which I sometimes find a lot more intuitive than the ijklhn rcs keys since your hand is already where it needs to be.

I suspected the shift key might have something to do with my problem but after trying a few times I realized switching back to stage mode always puts me at exactly half thrust no matter what I do.

I just tried it and it definitely does not happen to me.

Are you sure you did not leave your rocket at half thrust when you entered the docking mode?

Are you perhaps using any mods?

Thanks for testing it for me, still happening though. Maybe sticky keys turned on and is screwing with it? I'll try later when I'm home after my PC is restarted, see how it goes.

I can confirm that this also happens to me. Regardless of what keys I press in docking mode, I always end up at half thrust in staging mode. It might be a mod issue, as I have several mods installed. I haven't tried narrowing it down yet though.
