MORE Stayputnik questions...

Recommended Posts

OK then - I'm determined to do some navigation and science using Stayputniks before I risk any kerbals in deep space. I did finally manage to get one out toward Mun with a solar panel, rechargeble battery and antenna and Goo container so that's progress.

Now - when I succesfully run the Goo experiment and transmit the data back to Kerbin - WHEN do I get credit for the Sceince? After all - the Stayputnik can;t carry a parachute OR carry science in it's shell if I'm corect about that so radio transmission is the only way to profit from it's work. Am I correct in those assumption?

You get the credit for the science when the transmission is complete, but due to recent changes to how science works you only get a limited amount of science.

You may be better off redesigning your craft so that it has parachutes on, so you can land it back on Kerbin and recover full science points instead.

Once you transmit the results you should see it counting up towards 100% transmission. Once that's done a green text line should show up saying you got 30 science (or whatever). Then you can go to the KSC and the lab to see if you got the Science. You don't have to recover the probe.
