How do I increase FPS?

Recommended Posts

Some other things that can cause lag:

I've read of a Ocean/water graphics glitch, but the most common reason is usually too many parts being rendered with physics. Generally anything with over 500 parts will lag the game; this can be severe if you are trying to dock 2 ships with a lot of parts. This can also happen if you have a lot of ships/debris in one area (like close to the launchpad/runway.

This is one reason people try to make modular interplanetary ships/stations with as few parts as possible to avoid lag from high part counts as they assemble them.

Try this Fix: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/43253-Default-Terrain-Quality-Without-most-of-The-Lag! Also, terrain is still being partially rendered up to 160km above the surface (Ish) so if you have massive part count things you should ry to get them above that altitude (I use 200km for all my massive part count things)

I will try this when I have time.

Lower your graphic settings or buy a better computer.

That pretty much sums it up. KSP is a great game, but when you can play the game on the highest settings and have excellent frame rate (usually over 100 fps), it becomes an awesome game. It is much more enjoyable if you can play it without any limitations.

Honestly, if you really like KSP and are devoted (obsessed) to (with) it, then a rig built for it is way worth the investment.

V See my specs below V Remember, KSP is CPU intensive, so dump your money in a processor, not a graphics card or RAM. My computer cost between $1000 and $2000 to give you a scale.
