About 12 km, I jetpacked to one of the arches on the Mun and ran out of propellant 1 km into the return journey.

Best to do a physics warp during these periods....it's very very boring otherwise.

That being said I walked 3 kerbals 6km a piece from a crashed ship to a rescue ship, so all up that one was a little longer. I eneded up rigging up something to hold the Shift + W keys down.
