Hazardous planet surfaces

Recommended Posts

The multiple versions I mentioned would be because of the different materials used. Aluminum vs Steel used to make the same part would have very different weight, strength, melting points, and corrosion resistances.

classify thread #452345789562 "make things harder for beginners because we don't want people to get better than us"

So, what, in your opinion, all beginners hate the idea of increased 'endgame' challenge? It's not like the places mentioned in this thread (Eeloo and Moho, mostly) are planets most brand-new players will be rushing for anyway. It's perfectly acceptable to make some areas of the game more difficult than others, right? Or should we maybe remove Eve's atmosphere on the grounds that it might be too hard for a beginner to pull off a landing + return? And, you know, remove all those pesky craters and hills from the Mun, and turn it into a smooth, featureless ball, so there's nothing to crash into while landing?

KSP is not an easy game, nor a game for kids.

Increasing the difficult at some places a starter would not reach is totally acceptable.

Also, in real life an astronaut cannot just leave the ship and walk on most Solar system planets, it's weird that on KSP Jool is the only Hazardous ambient.

A sort of "life bar" or "contamination level" for EVA would be very interesting.

So you can wander around but not for too long, depending on where you are.
