psyper
I've currently been working on my Reverse Rescue SSTO Station. After my third rescued kerbal I decided it was time to build a more permanent system to the contract. Instead of launching a space plane from KSC, rendezvousing with the kerbal and bringing him back down and recover the craft I created a ssto space station with enough fuel to keep my two planes topped up and a hitchicker can for the pilots to live in while they wait for their next rescue mission. When a kerbal gets stranded the next pilot on the roster Eva's out of the can (I know I can transfer but there is just a trust beam between the two craft let's be realistic here!), undocks the fully fuelled craft, does a phased orbit manoeuvre using nukes to intercepted with the stranded kerbal, deorbits and drops in to the KSC. From there he drops off the stranded kerbal who is then recovered to complete the mission and if there is a crew change this is done via buggy. The plane then launches back in to space with less liquid O2 weighing it down and use the remaining fuel to dock back with the station ready for the next stranded kerbal. The station has an engine system to either transport it to the stranded kerbal so the space plane is fully fuelled to take him home or can be sent on to laythe as a crew transporter between laythe low orbit and any future colonies. The two planes are 'Tail-sitters' as I'm rubbish at runway launches. This also has the advantage of being able to land them on a moon with no atmosphere or terrain without a suitable landing strip. RogueMason
Stargazer is ready to fly to Duna. Two Rangers, two base modules, and a fuel reservoir for the Rangers after operations on the Red Planet are docked at the central hub.I sent a fuel tanker up to... refuel stuff...Obligatory sunrise shot. And the final statistics:Those 846 parts are making the frame rate just barely tolerable (I'm estimating around 6 FPS), and then the Ubiozor mod doesn't do what I thought it would do (on the fly welding), so I'm stuck with this hideous frame rate. However, it's finished, and it look mighty impressive even if I do say so myself. Hopefully she won't tear herself to pieces when I fire up the engines.I've also decided to make a miniaturised version of the ship that has half the number of ring modules, but I won't be getting to that for a short while. Overfloater
I thought I was done with cargo bay doors.... but then this came up.So far the results aren't promising at all! It flies perfectly, but the problem is the new heavier wings...BUT I'll never know for sure until I do a mission with it

Spartwo
This is awesome dude. Does it handle well in atmosphere? Or is it just to get into orbit?Bit of both. It's not the best atmospheric fighter and it's not the best vacuum fighter, but when it does both you can easily forgive that.Full fuel is more fun with the VTOL engine.(I wish f2 got rid of the highlight)Whilst the RAPIER is more fun when it's been deprived of oxidiser.I've modified it a bit more, the two probe cores have been replaced by inline intakes which make the outside tanks appear much cleaner.Vertical liftoff is very much alive.I expect to be finished by net week. Guest Space Cowboy
Clearly my thinking is wrong. I thought wing was going to make this happen. Not. Here is my day's work, try it out if you want. This was my idea to get an orange tank into orbit guaranteed. It's a CPU killer. Actions are in the dropdown. I havea cool blue light in the bay. It probably will bring cargo to orbit but not an orange tank. It has a few techniques that may be useful. I have a cross rib to help keep the wing from breaking. I have no idea how to do bay doors or I would do that. It's wider than the stripes on the runway.DOWNLOAD Edited December 1, 2014 by Space Cowboy
drewscriver
Development suspended on my attempt to make a rover with 1.25M parts that fits inside a Mk2 cargo bay. I actually overcame the redocking explosion problem (unlocking the joint on the claws). Unfortunately, under less-than ideal situations (aka if the launch platform is not flat-and-level like on the runway), the rover ended up driving horribly. With Mk3 bays just around the corner, it seemed like a waste of time.

eorin
I've decided to turn the sr-71 into an A-12 due it's nose shape more similar to an A-12, so i changed the tail, added a missile bay (even if the real plane doesn't have one, but who cares XD) and a controlable missile. All stock obviously (colour done with kerbpaint)SOON DOWNLOAD LINK
Rune
So, the MAKS project continues with excellent results.I have lost count how many Mriyas I have dunked into the ocean (good thing I'm not developing this in career), but surface-to-orbit is perfected. You drop the external tank suborbital with an apoapsis outside the atmosphere if you do things right, you can't ride the Mriya higher than about 10,000 because aerodynamic reasons (not only because it has plain jets!), and it is in general very accurate to the original, down to having a tiny payload and limited orbital capabilities (I squeeze about 300m/s for orbital maneuvers after orbit insertion). Landing, though, could be improved, turns out I had the landing gear slightly high and not parallel. And it is scary as boop, and I wouldn't try it with any fuel left in the tanks, BTW, wing loading is through the roof, as a good lifting body should have. So this is officially about 95% complete guys! I'll release it soonâ„¢.Javascript is disabled. View full albumRune. Crazy Soviet engineering FTW! manni01
This SSTO will never take off in my hands, I just can't handle the part count. It's supposed to be a Duna cargo SSTO, but I will never test this thing. It can most likely SSTO, but like I said, I will never test it. Its nose cargo bay is very good and reliable. 1, 2, 3, 4, toggle jet engines in pairs. 0 toggles intakes, 9 toggles cargo bay engines, 8 toggles gears so that vehicles can drive in when the nose is open. It lowers the front part. Also, I've made Duna cargo SSTO's and according do my normal specifications, this should get there with some payload. If you have a good enough computer to have a playable experience, here's a download:http://download1323./uvbg8drk0ydg/b60gdnv39554vks/LC+Cruiser+III+_Eagle_.craft Edited December 3, 2014 by manni01
NeatCrown
This SSTO will never take off in my hands, I just can't handle the part count.I have the same problem. I spent about 90% of my time designing, 10% in simulation. I have such a crappy Processor, Graphics card that I never get to test my larger designs (200-300 parts) in a full test flight, since for me, it runs at about 1/4 to 1/5th the speed, even with an optimized cfg, Razer, Low Aerodynamic quality, highest ÃŽâ€Time frame, 0 shadow cascades. I have to keep terrain detail up at high. If I don't: I clip right through the ground and explode. I can barely run KSP with 18 parts without being on the edge of lagging.
