Cameras and how to implement them

So, I was thinking, what if cameras could be added? Maybe they could work something like this:

1. For every picture of a biome, you get science

2. If more biomes are in a picture, the more science

3. the farther away, the less science (per biome)

4. Pictures on surface are good if they have certain features in them (like the lander, a crater, a Mun Arch)

5. Pictures of space are good if it is of another spacecraft and/or smaller body

6. Certain pictures of something like a space station will add publicity

7. And better cameras and telescopes later on

So, what do you think?

And maybe there could be an archive in the R&D building.

I actually kind of like that publicity thing.. never thought of it. When you think about it, no one would like to fund a mission to the moon for instance, and then not getting a single picture in return

I think it would be brilliant if photos earned you reputation, but I don't think the game should attempt to parse your scene to decide how much it was worth. Photos should be scored according to where you are when you take them, just like science experiments, not what you're pointing at. The incentive to take nicely framed pictures would come from the in-game photo album that displays the pics from each mission.

It would aslo just be awesome to have a gallery of photos taken from a planet, maybe allow for close ups showing more detail of the ground, or an ocean.

So before having the technology to land on some planets, we would have a bank of picture (some blurry, some better, of each planet or moon) as the ones taken by the Voyager 1 and 2. And after we would have pictures from rovers, as the pictures done by Curiosity, on Mars or Huygens on Titan. I guess it could be awesome.

It would be pretty cool, and maybe some hand held cameras for Kerbals?

Well, really I just want cameras, cause it would be really cool, like screenshots, except you can use them for more rep. I just thought they could maybe give you like 20 to 50 science at a time, getting 75% science back with transmitting (problems with the photo, like getting grainy due to losses during transmission)
