Steam account syncing and key

I bought KSP of the website quite a while ago, before I really began to use steam. Now however I buy practically all my games off steam. Unfortunately, this means that KSP doesn't run in steam for me because I never bought it on steam.

I was wondering - could SQUAD allow us to sync our official website accounts with or steam ones, like the game NETHER does? Because that would be really useful.

If you bought KSP through the website before it was even available on steam, then you might be able to transfer it. When it first came out on steam, SQUAD made a way of doing it, and I don't think it was a limited time offer. You have to go into the KSP store and there's a button somewhere. Be aware that it transfers it, not shares it, and it's irreversible.

Thanks, I will hunt around. I hope I can keep my saves

You'll have to manually copy your saves across but yeah, you should be able to keep your saves. You'll only have the Steam Transfer option if you had already bought KSP prior to it ever being available on Steam, though.
