Eve atmospheric entry possible!

Recommended Posts

Yes, i've finally made it. I've entered Eve's atmosphere, with deadly reentry. It was quite easy, really.

Here i'll show my procedure to land on it.

First step: Launch sucessful, equatorial orbit.

Second step: Manuever programmed. Waiting for the moment to burn.

Third step: Transfer.

Fourth step: Mid-course correction burn.

Fifth step: SOI entering.

Sixth step: Trajectory change, periapsis from 1.509 km to 100 km.

Seventh step: Orbit circularization.

Eighth step: Periapsis reduction, down to 85 km.

Ninth step: Reentry.

Tenth step: Landing.

For all these steps, i was very careful, and certified myself that i would have enough heatshields to survive the reentry. But i would have survived even with only one if i were careful, or 2 if i were unlucky.

The heatshields used were the ones for the MK 1-2 pod.

The reentry and landing can be seen in this picture:

Yes, that was the most intense moment of the reentry. Trust me.

And, by doing that, i think i can go pretty much anywhere!

Congratulations, you landed in inferno.

Question: did the inflatable ballons mod is functional on eve's gravity? ( just curious)

Scott Manley, the god of KSP, said that they don't work because of no oxygen (Which is an stupidity, because any gas lighter than the atmosphere should float), but you can change a config and the will work on Eve, Duna and Jool.

Ah, e tu tá escrevendo errado. Seria "Does the inflatable"... ;)
