2 Questions: How do you dock in orbit? And how do you activate liquid fuel engines!?

Recommended Posts

So I've known KSP since 2011 kurtjmac let me know about this game.(Most of you also knew this game from him) But I still don't know most of the basics...

Question 1: How do you dock your spacecraft in orbit?

You know about how people love to put like 50 space stations in orbit but how?

Put a YouTube video when you reply.

Question 2: How do you turn on the liquid fuel engine?!??!

ONLY SOLID FUEL BOOSTER GO UP..... WHAT IS THE KEY!?!?!??! I WANT MY SHIP TO DO MORE THAN REACH ONLY 250648m!!... WHAT IS THE KEY TO ACTIVATE LIQUID ENGINES?!

As TechnicalK3rbal said, "shift" throttles up and "ctrl" throttles down. However, if the engine hasn't been activated, those won't matter.

You can activate an engine two ways: by activating the stage that they inhabit (spacebar) or by right-clicking on the engine itself (you'll see a button in that menu that allows you to activate/deactivate an engine).

I seriously recommend installing Blizzy's Rendezvous Tutorial mod, and his Docking Tutorial mod. Those two mods will teach you everything you need to know. However, here's Scott Manley's docking and rendezvous tutorial from 0.18. Nothing has changed in recent versions that would invalidate it.

There is a 3rd way to activate and deactivate liquid engines. Place them into action groups while in the VAB or SPH and the assigned key will activate or deactivate them. This is normally used for VTL designs or space planes that use jets in atmosphere and rockets when they run out of air.
