Graphics settings - Terrain "Distance fog" in the atmosphere

I play KSP in notebook, but the performance is horrible when i launching the vessel. After launch i immediately turn my camera below the vessel to increase FPS.

The terrain rendering is very expensive, so it is only needed in the terrain direction. Sky and horizontal view distance should be excluded.

I suggest a graphical settings "View distance" which generate Fog beyond a distance. I think it isn't require more specification because it is a common solution in other games. Wiki

It would be great if Squad to be able to pull it into the next release. :)

Nope, not the best way to increase performance. If it had a fairly wide tolerance, so that you could actually see, well, anything, then maybe. As it is, it would detract from the game immensely; there are better ways to optimise KSP without making it virtually unplayable. Being able to see a great distance is an extremely useful tool in spaceflight, and it would make things immensely difficult to be hampered to such an extent for the sake of performance.
