Let's do the time warp again

Recommended Posts

I had a plane on the runway and it was just after sunset, (game-time) Needed daylight so I hit the warp button, but it only goes up to 4X, like I'm doing a re-entry with the chutes deployed! Time warp works fine on the VAB's launch pad. I know I've used warp on the runway in the past with no problem so, what's going on here? A bug maybe?, or What?

Thank you for replying so quickly. I "lurk" the forums quite often and have noticed your intelligent and prompted advice to other "noobies" like me, and it is greatly welcomed. Any way here's the deal. I have this particular ship mounted on launching pad clamps at about a 45' angle. There are no wheels to "brake"! Does the game think I'm on the runway, therefore I should have wheels?

The issue likely is that when physics load on the pad, your vessel vibrates back and forth as the forces of gravity and the flexing of joints in your ship try to achieve equilibrium. And so the game considers your ship as being in motion. Sometimes you just have to wait it out for 5-10 seconds, or sometimes longer before you can attempt a normal time warp.

Ah, try placing your launch clamps closer together, especially if it's a longer ship. I suspect what is happening, like FenrirWolf mentioned, is that when physics kicks in your ship is wobbling as the joints work themselves out. you can either wait for it to stop, or you can put more clamps on. Or, if you are really adventurous, you can save the whole thing as a sub assembly and then launch it from the launch pad.
