Avalon304
11. Empty the contents of the original KlockheedMatian folder12. Download Avalon's MM config13. Put it in the emptied KlockheedMartian FolderDo not do 11 and 13. Delete the old KM_Gimbal entirely including its folder. Use the newest versions folder. So the KM_Gimbal install should be GameData\Klockheed_Martian_Gimbal and not whatever it is in the current download. Then use my patch. Ive seen that Sarbian has some good plans for the gimbal plugin.
Keymaster89
hi, all! I just wanna ask if this awesome mod will be added into the Ckan repository ones updated.I started to use it in 0.90, and IMO it works REALLY well, but i don't know what will happen if i add mod unknown to Ckan...It really easily install everything needed, adding this mod into the repository will be awesome!(i'm asking this because i didn't find the mod in the catalog, maybe i'm wrong, if i am, correct me)
Secuas
I'd love this mod but I also like FAR and from what I've expirienced it's really really wonky like an infini-glider when I want to land. Can you include FAR support?

Virtualgenius
The shuttle was built without FAR or NEAR support and to retro fit there are some MM files scattered throughout this thread I suggest trying those to see if that suits you

Vladthemad
So: proper guide how to make my favorite mod work in '90:1. Install via installer version (Warranty/support void if not done this)2. Delete Module Manager 2.5.13. Go to ModuleManager thread and download 2.5.44. delete "Rescources", "Plugin" and "Firespitter.version" files/folders in the Firespitter folder5. Go here : https://github.com/snjo/Firespitter6. Download the Master7. Open the "For Release" folder8. Put the "Plugin" "Rescources" "Firespitter.version" files/folders into the empty Firespitter folder in your GameData[Optional] Install ActiveTextureManagement. You may pay pick between Aggressive or Basic9. Download the new KM_Gimbal.dll10. Put the Klockheed_Martian_Gimbal folder into GameData11. Download Avalon's MM config12. Put (Avalon's config) it into GameData/KSO/Patches/folder. If none, create the folder.12. Deliver a payload to Kerbin OrbitCheers, flamerboy67664Do not do 11 and 13. Delete the old KM_Gimbal entirely including its folder. Use the newest versions folder. So the KM_Gimbal install should be GameData\Klockheed_Martian_Gimbal and not whatever it is in the current download. Then use my patch.Didn't work Crashes, but I don't know how to read the crash logs. I can probably do without the shuttle for now...but the space station parts are something I have a hard time living without! Anyone care to help me figure out what's going wrong? Which crash report file should I post for starters Edit: Wait, do I need to yank out RPM? I didn't see that it was up to date, and the files are still in the KSO folders so....?Edit 2: Guess not, I installed the vehicles and station parts pack and it looks like it started up fine with that folder still in. Vladthemad
I have the updated firespitter.dll and I have ATM so I'm not crashing or running our of memory. The game just stops loading. The quirky statements just keep scrolling along every few seconds like normal and the fine print that says the part that it's lagging stays on the tail rotor.- - - Updated - - -Also my firespitter parts don't show up in ttheVAB/SPH.What other mods do you have installed? I was trying to get KSO to work, managed to get it to start fine with stock Nasa and Squad folders, and the KSO vehicles pack and the station pack (sadly the shuttle packs are a different story). I added my other mods, which are all up to date for .90 and now it won't start...just hanging at the kmwhelirotortailkso file as well. I'm wondering if there's a conflict that we are both running into with another mod?Edit: Ok, I poked around a bit. I could get it to start fine with ONLY the KSO files, but as soon as I installed anything else, it didn't want to start...hanging at that tail rotor load. I went back, and the problem appears to be I was running with Rover Dude's hacked Firespitter plugin. After I double checked and downloaded the newest, I could get it to load with all the mods I have without problem...well, at least to the main screen, haven't tested past that just yet Edited December 23, 2014 by Vladthemad
Avalon304
The link to your gimblefix seems to have been messed up when you copy pasted it So it was. Heres the fixed.https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/14006682/gimbalfix.rarDidn't work Crashes, but I don't know how to read the crash logs. I can probably do without the shuttle for now...but the space station parts are something I have a hard time living without! Anyone care to help me figure out what's going wrong? I didn't see that it was up to date, and the files are still in the KSO folders so....?Edit 2: Guess not, I installed the vehicles and station parts pack and it looks like it started up fine with that folder still in.Steps:-Install ATM. It is required for this mod. (Additionally, run at half-res textures to save even more memory)-Install 4.09HF.-Download the updated Firespitter plugin from snjo's github. Install the plugin, by over writing the firespitter included with 4.09HF.If youve done that, everything should work.If you want to go one step further:-Download the updated KM_Gimbal plugin from the SpaceShuttleEngines topic here on the forum. You dont need the full SSE pack, just the plugin.-Delete the included Klockheed Martin folder that comes with 4.09HF and install the new plugin by placing its folder in GameData.-Download my gimbal fix patch and place it anywhere in your GameData folder. Now you should have a working KSO, with the latest gimbal plugin. If you are still crashing, and its crashing while loading... you are probably running out of memory. If its crashing at other times, and its generating an error folder (usually the date and time of the crash) inside your root KSP directory, you can post the 'error' text file in that folder. You can also post the 'KSP' text file in your root KSP directory.

I doubt it's memory, I never had that issue before with KSOS and three times the mods I'm running now. The KSP file is too big to post. Avalon304
Alright, tried again, with new downloads in case something was corrupted, and it's still crashing during load. I doubt it's memory, I never had that issue before with KSOS and three times the mods I'm running now. The KSP file is too big to post. Here's the crash file:0 MB physical memory [0 MB free].0 MB paging file [0 MB free].0 MB user address space [82 MB free].Im not actually sure how these lines are even possible...None of those numbers should be 0. Is it saying I've run out of available memory, or is it saying it's using no memory at all? It's something to do with the shuttle parts, as I can run the station and vehicle packs just fine, but when I install the everything pack it CTD's after about ten seconds of starting into the whole loading sequence. At all. Like physically has no RAM modules in it...But if youre crashing while loading its be cause youre running out of memory. If you dont have ATM-Basic... install it. If you have Basic install Aggressive. If you have ATM-Aggressive, open the KSP launcher and set texture resolution to half. Otherwise you need to pick and choose mods. Virtualgenius
I would advise using the opengl switch it saves lots of memory on my install its over a gig saved in conjunction with atm aggressive
Vladthemad
I have ATM aggressive installed. Even with that, and only KSOS installed it crashes. I never had that issue before, with KSOS as well as three dozen other mods installed. It's not likely that it's suddenly running out of memory in .90 when I never had an issue in .25 is it? It's not likely that it's suddenly running out of memory in .90 when I never had an issue in .25 is it?0.90 does have more parts and textures, so if you were just under the limit before, the new content may be enough to push your memory usage over the edge. Deadpan110
0 MB physical memory [0 MB free].0 MB paging file [0 MB free].0 MB user address space [82 MB free].Im not actually sure how these lines are even possible...None of those numbers should be 0.Welcome to the strange and wonderful world of C#, this output is likely spat out too late in a catch all situation (I do not know my way around C#, Mono or Unity3D but have been subjected to that error in the past).Even though total memory on a 32 bit address space has to access your game data (in physical mem) and graphics data (in your graphics card), just running this mod without ATM and any other mods (Including Smokescreen, Klockheed_Martian, JSI and Firespitter) should run fine by providing the parts with no additional functions (eg, leave out the requirements and you will still get the parts without any functions/effects).Adding ATM into the mix is a great thing to do - but can also run into problems (which I doubt you are running into) - that is the conversion of one graphic type into another not only requires CPU time - but more importantly, memory... and lots of it ...the initial ATM conversion can eat up ALL your memory processing a single image before it moves on to the next.If you are willing to continue testing and wanting to try and catch the cause, make a brand new folder for KSP containing ony the default stock Squad and NASAmission folders - Then add just the KSOS folders you require... IGNORE all the other folders... and then start KSP.If all goes well (sandbox), you should have some parts with no additional functions. From there, add the required mods one by one... not from the KSOS zip - but from the original latest sources (e.g. mentioned above is Firespitter and Klockheed replacements).*Note that things are in limbo during the 0.25 to 0.90 transition and some mods have patches mentioned later in their forum threads (JSI rasterprop is a good example but can safely be excluded from installation in this state should problems occur).Once you have manually added KSOS to the stock 'vanilla' game and added the other mods by searching the relevant places in the forum, you should be able to push it through ATM and save memory when you add other mods.Yeah I know it's a bit cruddy with some 'relied on' mods being up in the air for 0.90 - but until the holiday season settles a little, the only way to keep your KSP addiction alive is to go step by step prioritising your mods and re-testing after every install (at this point i say 'CKAN is a bloomin fantastic idea... more mod devs need to be on there).Anyways, long post... i hope i may have helped somewhat into pointing some direction... hope everyone is having good holidays! Avalon304
just running this mod without ATM and any other mods (Including Smokescreen, Klockheed_Martian, JSI and Firespitter) should run fine by providing the parts with no additional functions (eg, leave out the requirements and you will still get the parts without any functions/effects).The full KSOS system (that is Phases 1-4) require ATM to run, even with no other mods installed (at least this has been my experience, and yes, this includes all dependencies. Never leave them out.).Adding ATM into the mix is a great thing to do - but can also run into problems (which I doubt you are running into) - that is the conversion of one graphic type into another not only requires CPU time - but more importantly, memory... and lots of it ...the initial ATM conversion can eat up ALL your memory processing a single image before it moves on to the next.ATM can do that, if its the first time its been run, with a large amount of mods installed. When its first run, it caches all of the converted files and then never has to convert them again. Otherwise ATM is pretty much just straight memory savings. From there, add the required mods one by one... not from the KSOS zip - but from the original latest sources (e.g. mentioned above is Firespitter and Klockheed replacements).Outside of Firespitter, nothing else needs to be updated. The old gimbal plugin worked. But the new one changes things, and will be getting some pretty nice added features. So even though you dont need it, I would upgrade to it.
