Thanks to ComradeJenkins, manager of Tyrene Technologies, SSI has paired up with them to bring you the latest sneak peek into what's going on around SSI HQ.

The SSI Positron KX-2 (Type-1Q Shuttlecraft) in development:

We hope to bring you the second Kracken-powered spaceship to the consumer market after Rune...in SSI style of course. ;)

What happens if you anchor one of these Kraken-drives to the ground (launch clamps), and what can it lift? (infinite numbers of tons?)

Untested.

However... we have discovered that the various k-forces we're manipulating somehow they are responsible for separating parallel universes, and if abused, can make collisions between universes possible, as evidenced by the 100x more SAS modules viewable in the explosion than we started out with.

Optimistically, Inigma Kerman believes SSI has managed to stumble upon replicator technology...

I know that when they exceed 800 m/s or so relative to the luminiferous aether, they do lower the acceleration in proportion to the mass above a certain mass. That is, if one generates 2000 kN for a 20-tonne object, it will generate 2000 kN for a 50 tonne object.

But I don't know if the same effect applies on the ground. I have tried increasing Kerbin's gravity, but SAS just lets it fall over, so I don't know if it would survive 100 G or not if it were forced to endure it. I would expect that it would not unless it weighed under 2 tonnes for said 2000 kN device.

Bugged craft file FTW! I hope you didn't lose too many hours there to quantum superposition of parallel realities. However, I think that has more to do with copying clipped parts than with the K-Drive...

And yeah, release that baby drive when you can! You have gotten the coolest, most compact form factor yet. I myself am trying to replicate the effect with smaller landing gear, but so far no luck. Who knows, it may end up being more repairable. Is your repairable, BTW? And does it survive triggering it the space setting OK? Acceleration?

Rune. Awaiting results from the test program!

Engine and Positron craft file are posted at Tyrene, and in the SSI Dropbox. Have at it! :D Its not commercial yet since they are still in development.

Yeah, I was too impatient and didn't wait ;) Have you done in-space testing? It's my next goal!

Do you mind if we add the smaller engine to our products list for ppl to try out? :)

Same here, you can list any K-Drive powered thing I post on Tyrene technologies as a collaboration. Perhaps a list of links to the craft threads also? I predict inigma and I won't be the only ones contributing products for long...

Rune. BTW, mine thrusts about 90º off its axis, that is also weird (so it flies upright).

The all-new Positron, now the KX-2 (Type-1Q Shuttlecraft).

Based on the Mini K-Drive Mk. II engine above, here is the Craft File:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/wgp8i51orramngs/SSI%20Positron%20KX-2%20%28Type-1Q%20Shuttlecraft%29.craft

Not yet ready for publication yet, but the craft file is in Tyrene's thread, as well as the SSI Dropbox.

Based on the SSI Mini K-Drive Mk. II engine. The fuel and rockomax is only for landing on airless bodies if needed. But it's prob not. Also has way more rcs than it needs, but it's all for the cool-factor.

What you could do is replace the LFO tank with more monoprop tanks and use an RLA Stockalike monoprop engine, giving it stupid amounts of fuel for docking, landing, etc.
