How to get off a ladder onto a flat surface???

Hi guys, Im trying to get up on my ladder and then on top of a flat surface at the end of my ladder, but jebediah keeps falling down back to the ground once I reach the top of the ladder instead of walking straight forward to get on top of that flat surface.

How do you do this? Is it even possible I mean... ?

You need to fit a ladder segment at an angle on the edge like this:

Use shift-S to adjust the angle as you're placing it.

You can used inclined ladder segments to get over the edge. Use Shift+WASD to rotate parts by 5 degree increments.

Amazing, I just wonder how to do that while playing with a crane and having my dumb kerbal falling from ladder just on top !
