Killerhurtz
Hello everyone, and welcome to the General Solutions Products Union catalog. Our current offers are as follow:FRG-50 'Snowman' heat sink: Engines heating up too much, yet can't afford to drop your thrust? Slap a few of these around your engines and all your woes shall disappear*!(Not pictured)Radiator Winglet: For when a Snowman is too much, or in the case the ejected fluid's drenching your stuff. Stick em and they'll deal with a bit of the heat once active.CLD-8 Radiator: Need more than a snowman, but the Winglet doesn't cut it? Then this is for you. Safely gets rid of more heat, at the expense of being a bit heavier. AV-T1R Bleed Winglet: This piece of high technology uses an experimental alloy dubbed Jebedianite to gather and expel massive amounts of heat**. While quite useful, it's very heavy for a winglet, due to the nature of the alloy. Get yours now and get a free bottle of glow-in-the-dark soda!LV-T30a Fuel Collector: Research has shown that only a fraction of the fuel used is actually burnt. This tries to remedy to the problem by capturing back a certain amount of it. Might slow you down a bit in the process, though.EAS-8 Carbon Connector: Tired of these flimsy strut connectors? Fear no more! Recent advances in technology allowed us to weave short-ish sticks of stable graphene, the nigh-indestructible material*! No more shall your side-mounted SRBs get torn off!Balsa Connector: Standard aluminum struts not long enough for you? Look no further! Made out of the ever-viable Balsa Wood, these struts are able to stretch up to two times the length of a standard connector strut at the expense of being slightly flimsy!CHLL-2 Heat Conductor: For when a standard fuel tank can't get the heat quite quickly enough to your radiators. Holds no fuel, but allows passage through, and allows nearly direct interface to your radiators. Just be sure there are such, because if your stuff's overheating, your fuel tanks might not like getting all that extra charge. The insulation prevents heat from bleeding off, though.FRST-5 Thermal Pump: Similar to the Snowman, only it doesn't bleed like a woman on her period. Follows your other engines' throttle to drop off just the right amount of coolant to keep them clear of a fiery catastrophe.SHTB-10 'Shotball' Liquid Booster: Your SRBs don't fire for long enough? Need a booster that won't crap it's pants when it's nearly out of fuel? Look no further! The SHTB-10 is the solution for all your problems*! Just stick one of those onto your fuel tanks and watch your aircraft blast off! Just stay aware that it is still a booster, and like every good booster: 'Once you pop, you can't stop!'. *Results not guaranteed. Darrknox
This is extremely interesting. I can't wait to try it in game. You might just have revolutionized heat management in this game. Congrats on your monopoly! If these work really well they could really use some models and textures
Killerhurtz
That they work, I tested them. Actually managed to prevent overheating while stacking vertically solid boosters. The only thing I'd consider fixing is the amount they shave off, I think it might be a bit high.
Darrknox
Well you're encouraged to update them however you wish! People around here like things to be a bit on the difficult side.
foolycooly
I have notcied a problem, with the Snowman module, it keeps cooling the engine even if it has ran out of fuel, then the engine heat skyrockets once I jettison them
Ice
Meh, I've never actually gotten an overheat (except when I pressed it to one), it usually just stops when its 5 pixels from complete overheat, and then it stays there until I run out of fuel. While it IS true they cool when out of fuel, I have no clue why. But the overheating speed after the jettison was not affected at all. But think of it like this: if something depends on cooling and you get rid of said cooling device, doesn't it make sense that your thing is going to overheat? Yeah, but in this case, it dosent overheat... (I blame the conspiracy!)
Killerhurtz
It... doesn't? I had tried it here (4 of those hyper-heavy fuel tanks from Futuretech + 1 E100 engine from the Exelciesor series). It overheated rather quickly, but lost most of the heat while the cooler was active, then when I jettisoned the coolers it overheated exactly as fast as it did before...Anyhow, it might be because I'm using stuff not as it's meant to be used, which brings glitches. But now that I think of it, I have something I have to try (which is not related to heat). Be back with results (and possibly a new part).
Darrknox
Maybe it's the recent update to 0.85?
Ice
I think 0.85 is mostly addition, not so much changing and probably not to the code so it shouldnt work any differently.
Killerhurtz
Also, if everything still works as planned, I have another part coming right up. And a LOT of ideas for HarvesteR.Updated to 0.8.5. Indeed, the rocket now mysteriously soaks up heat at all times actually absorbs part of the heat. I figured out what was what. It does NOT prevent overheating; it just naturally radiates a lot of it. Might have to do with adding extra weight around the thing. So it works just as it should, there was nothing to fix in the end. Hell, just tried it with NORMAL boosters, the same phenomenon happened. And these are NOT meant to shed off heat. So it's nothing I can help with.Although now enjoy the Fuel Collector. Similar principle, different use: this one generates fuel at the expense of negative (upwards) thrust. For fuel economy (haven't done the math, with the upwards thrust... Gives out about the quarter of the thrust of the normal thruster, and collects roughly the same amount. No clue if it helps, does nothing or hinders the aircraft it's attached to.) ledo1222
I like, but can you try and remodel them so they look original..
Darrknox
I think Hurts just wanted to make the CFG edits. I'd be willing to make some models and textures though.
Killerhurtz
Indeed. If you read the few last lines, there is one that says so:'If anyone wants to give a shot at making a model and texture for those, be my guest. I just wanted to prove that it was indeed possible.'I am a HORRIBLE modeler, and an even worse texturer. I just got a knack with code, and many ideas. Also, Darrknox, if you do make the models and texture, send them over and I'll update the whole package. Don't restrain yourself to the format that they are currently on; I can deal with vectors. Just make them like you feel they should look like and I'll be more than happy to deal with the rest. Killerhurtz
How exactly do i use your addon's parts??It's very simple, really. Go in Utility, they're all there. Stick them close to the parts you want to cool and activate them and they'll do their job. Also, can't wait to see these models Dark.
venku122
yes I installed them correctly but how do I put them on my rocket to affect my engines??

esd
I had an idea for your winglet-based radiator - heatsinks!
esd
I've knocked up a kinda heatsink for your radially-mounted cooler.Lemme know what you think, and if it meets your approval, I'll add it to my thread too (Attached zip contains a complete peice, ready to go in the game - though I think the description may need a bit of a tweak)
Killerhurtz
Epic part, but since it REALLY looks like a radiator, I have edited the specs a bit, and it is now a full-part. Thank you a lot for contributing to this pack. Also, update! Radiator added to pack, and (hopefully) fixed bug which would cause the non-existent exhaust to damage parts above it.
