*Syrup not included. Find your own butter.

Very hard to control for first five seconds of descent, after that, controlling it gets suprisingingly easy.

Capable of making it into escape velocity or orbit around the Mun with enough fuel left over for small orbital manuveurs. Do not estimate the tiny orange engine. They are much more powerful and efficent than at first sight.

So, it's a St. Patrick's day themed fan-works challenge. I am going to tell a story.

So, in my campaign game, I am getting along quite well, and the second aircraft I have designed and saved is this:

P14mNZQ.png

This is the K-2 Wyoming, named so because of it's Y-shaped wings.

Before it looked like that, however, it looked like this:

LseBA3K.png

Notice how it doesn't have front winglets, unlike the version above.. So this version has problems taking off, as it has a balanced center of lift and center of mass, but it has no forward torque, meaning it can't take off before the end of the runway, depite reaching ~180m/s at the end. So, being semi-observant, I add the front winglets, and put Jeb in the hot seat, letting him test it. So, now it's on the runway, and I'm ready to take off.

Before I continue, let me explain something: my graphics card is not meant for KSP. It can run KSP, but not very well. The computer is a basic Gateway desktop from 2007. It has an NVidia 315 graphics card (not sure if integrated or not...). It takes four normal seconds to pass a regular game second while launching a rocket or taking off.

So on this takeoff, I decide to be stupid, and start testing the flaps and such at 100(+ or - 20) m/s. With phys warp at 2 or 3x speed. So while I'm doing this, I test the roll, which is very sensitive while in phys warp, especially without precision controls on (as any normal player knows). I roll it over, and accidentally tear off the wings on 1 side, removing all but the winglets on the front and back of the craft, and the little tailplane you see in the main wing section. So, now I'm rolled over, with SAS holding me at the roll, 3x phys warp on, and with Jebediah in the pilot's chair. So, without thinking, or turning off phys warp, I lean the craft back over, but lean it over too much, tearing off the wings in a symmetrical manner to the other side.

So now the craft looks like this:

qsGsdnM.png

I'm almost 2/3 down the runway, and I decide to be really stupid, since the plane is nearly at full speed, and try taking off.

So here's where the St. Patrick's day theme kicks in: I guess Jeb got really lucky, because the thing decides to fly. And not only does it fly, but I suspect it flies better than the original K-2, even with the winglets on the front. Seriously, Luck of the Irish, Stupidity of the Me. So now I have something that is ridiculous, and I have no idea what to do with it. KSP physics is OP. Happy St. Patty's day, guys.

Have best idea:

Kangaroo mech,

Where kerbal fits in a seat... In the pouch...

I would do it, but I'm not sure my computer would be able to handle it.

You could do it out of small parts, make a kangaroo missile.

. Paraphrasing Crocodile Dundee, that wasn't a theme, this is a theme...

Australia

Cool! As an Aussie, I have a natural advantage here.

I already have my kerbalised Aussie christmas song.

And the Space Opera house I made back in .18, or maybe it was .19..

Perhaps I'll replicate the Sydney Harbour brigde with girdir parts.

Maybe a kerbalised version of "Home amoung the gum trees", or a kerbal photoshoped into a kerbal cross drop bear... so many possiblities.

Edit: or maybe I could use KSP to make the space version of "The man from snowy river" I've been meaning to draw since high school...

"There was movement in the station, for the word had got around..."

We'll see, not sure I can spare much time ATM.

Also, I challenge someone to build a boomerang- see if your skill matches that of the aeronautical engineers of Australia's first people!

Awesome, Tw1!

Thanks mate!

I made a "coathanger"- a.k.a Sydney Harbour Bridge- to go with my Opera House.

About 900 parts.

Stock, apart from mechjeb.

Now if that's not cool, I'll put Vegemite on my Akubra hat which has corks dangling from it, and eat it.

And then, I'll wash it down with a meat pie and Tim Tams, and dodge snakes and spiders as I head to the beach and swim, avoiding sharks.

*wanders away muttering patriotically*
