First Flying thing

So I've been working on trying to make a flying Lab, with many dead kerbals to show for it. I finally got one that will take off and sorta land, but it is slow as hell and turns about as well as a flying brick so any help you can give me would be great.

any tips, suggestions would be great. I want to be able to fly around to different Biomes and collect data.

I was hoping that someone would be able to give me some pointer as to how to make this brick actually fly better. After almost 300 views no help at all? Come on folks help a newb out.

Make the struts under the wings. Fix landing gear. Try having 2 side to side on each rear canard. Add more control surfaces to the front canard while removing some from the middle. Also select some fuel tanks and lower the amounts in them at the SPH.
