Crew angst on the Eve Train

Recommended Posts

Seems there has been a bit of a tiff on the rescue train, leading to the "lesser 3" turning their backs on the driver and his first mate...

But seriously, any tips about why I seem to wind up fooling with "Invert steering" just to try to be able to control a rover every time I bop out to do anything else would be appreciated.

When you switch back to the craft you're probably automatically set to 'control from here' on a part which isn't pointing in the direction you want; if 'forward' is the direction such that the train is pulled by big bit at the front then the chances are either you have a probe core somewhere or one of the back-facing Kerbals is being selected as the control focus.

You know you've got the back 3 cars docked backwards, right?

Yah - I explained why over in Mission Reports, basically I forgot to add any way to stop them from rolling away, and I landed their carrier on a tilted plane, so they would roll away as soon as I dropped them from the carrier. So I had to grab them before I dropped them, and they were on the carrier pointed in the wrong direction...

Update - this is the LAST time I will take a vehicle out to Eve to rescue the rescued Kerbins. If this doesn't work, I give up.

The ship heads out of Kerbal orbit on its way to Eve. Asking a lot from the standard 3-orange-tank tri-N.

Close up of where the poor slobs have to sit during Eve ascent until they can get to their 2 HH capsules.
