docking ports

Hey there

i was just wondering is there a way to set the focus, right now i have to be about 180m

id like to focus at 1km or more

You can move the camera so you are looking from behind your target, then zoom in until you can get an angle that you can set the docking port as a target. Usually I don't bother with that since it doesn't really make a difference until you are ready to make the final approach.

yes i want to do this soon then later, as this will let me set up my docking sooner as i dock manually.

i just don't want to wait till i get to 180m before i can set as target is all

Best thing to do is to switch to you map view "M" and then right click on the vessel you want to dock with and set it as your target, then as you get closer you can fine tune your target to the specific docking port by doing what Tank Buddy said above.
