Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor

Hey, this is my attempt at making an F-22 Raptor in Ksp all stock.

To use missiles just use key bindings 0; 9; 8.

If you don't want to use SAS just trim about half of a Notch up or down depending on if you have your missiles or not.

Not big enough.

The F-22 is a pretty big aircraft, about the same size as a F-15C Eagle. Right now the scale of that one is about the size of a F-35, or even a F/A-18A Hornet.

The engines you are using are good, but they are horrible for anything at supersonic speeds is what the F-22 was built for.

Nice looking plane though.

It is hard to make good scaled aircraft with stock parts, so I don't see anything wrong with size of craft.

F-22 was build to be stealth, high manueverable, multirole. Just to be high performance fighter as every 5th generation aircraft. His speed is awesome too, but it's not his main asset.

However there is way to improve this craft speed at high altitude and don't break his low altitude speed ;)

I agree, there is a way to improve the craft's high altitude performance without getting rid of the jet engines. Use an inverted small square strut to mount a pair of the larger jet engines right in front of the smaller so that the smaller ones are inside the larger (that's the way to do it without the console cheats). As to the size, Hodo was right. That's not to say this isn't a nice craft, it is. It's just a little on the small size for a raptor.

Yes, I know that it should be bigger, but I think that it's not so important when building stock replicas.

My F-22 Raptor is sized correctly, but I got more experiance with building than Khrynn (I think so), so I think that his replica is not so bad for now. He will gain more experiance, find better building techniques and start to correct his crafts. Now making good shape, tomorrow correct size :)

F-22 was build to be an air superiority aircraft, i.e. a pure fighter. The multirole part was added later. And the airplane really suck at it : it is too fast for troop support and as a bomber it does not cary enough payload to achieve any tactical result, and I'm not even talking about any possible strategic result.

The whole generation thing is purely marketing. Mainly because so-called 5th generation airplane do not achieve anything more than "legacy" machines.

Stealth is pure propaganda, as are beyond visual range missiles.

Still, the plane is not that bad since it is really agile and don't loose much energy while turning, and that make it good at dogfights.

I just wanted to say, that it wasn't builded, just to be very fast...

I don't know much about real aircrafts. Building them in KSP is my hobby.
