TWR questions for EVE Lander

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am a bit baffled bacause i have seen screenshots of Eve Landers with an TWR of 1.6 o.O

Is Mechjeb displaying TWR relative to the body your on?

So this 1.6 Eve TWR would equate to a 2,7 TWR on Kerbin (1.6TWR * 1.7 times more gravity) which would make my planed Lander considerably bigger.

I was targeting a 1.9TWR at the beginning of each Asparagus-Stage. What would be an estimated optimal value for that? The Craft to bring to orbit is around 8t(without any tanks or engines, there is a decoupler so it can be picked up by a transfer craft), so my lander is in the multiple 1000 tonnes class if it matters.

Greetings

Ben

MechJeb displays dV relative to Kerbin. Kerbal Engineer Redux has the ability to display TWR on any world, so you might want to give that a look (I have both, and use KER mainly for landers) and really anything >1 relative to Eve will get you airborn, the issue is then having enough dV to make it to orbit.

So, thats a mayor dent in the design of my lander. I have a TWR of 1.9 - ~2.1 on each stage on kerbin, so 1,1 - ~1,25 on eve. I have a total of 12800 atmospheric deltav. Is that anywhere near a setup that can make it to LEO?
