My kerbals can't eva - Help a modeling noob to make this hatch working

Recommended Posts

Hye Kerbonauts.

I've read many threads about modeling and I'm trying to create a simple hatch, just for testing.

My mesh is a simple cube, I duplicated it to create a mesh collider.

Then I added a smaller cube, and tagged it Airlock in Unity.

In ksp, I don't have "hatch obstructed" problem. My Kerbal can eva, but he's somehow stuck inside the airlock mesh, and stay in the pod, so I can clone him to infinity.

My airlock's z vector is pointing inside (I tried outside too).

Here some screenshots to illustrate the problem.

I'm sure i'm making something wrong, but as I'm learning, I can't figure out what.

The problem might be with the duplicate mesh. Since my parts do not consist of small details (like landing gear, for example), I do not create a collision mesh. However, in Unity, I set my rendered mesh to "collision" also. Make sure the collision setting is checked as "convex".
