Can someone explain the new nasa mission pack I've been hearing about?

I think it goes something like this:

There is an asteroid, a rather large one, headed toward Kerbin. You are required to save Kerbin in practically any way possible, via collision redirection to thrusting redirection, or even capture. And you have access to much larger parts, I've heard up to 5 meters. Which is 2x bigger than the standard Rockomax parts.

I think its more like the Asteroid Redirect mission, where you move an asteroid into Münar orbit and you send kerbals to visit it.

I'd like to know about the parts included. Are they stock compatible (stockalike with adapters, etc.)? Are they only available in this mission? Are these parts the only stock parts of their size? etc.
