Whos watching Space Brothers?

I feel in love with this anime. "The series, which is set in 2025, follows two brothers, one already a member of the astronaut corps preparing for an international mission to the moon, and the other, a JAXA astronaut candidate hoping to go to Mars.

The animated series, which is based on a manga (comic) by the same title, uses JAXA's and NASA's names and logos, and blends real and fictional spacecraft and places. NASA's Kennedy and Johnson space centers appear, as does JAXA's H-II rocket and NASA's Orion."

Theres also a few cameos from real Japanese astronauts. One scene.. which sadly I cannot find on its own has one of the BEST metaphors for why we should go into space ive ever heard. And theres a few other scenes that really hit home. You don't even have to be an anime fan to enjoy this. ( though it may seem a bit queer in areas to those who don't. For instance.. the Japanese depiction of Americans is.. off to say the least. But that's besides the point. ) Its also not the most accurate show.. ( I cringed on the SSTO rocket launch, but..oh well ) They choose to leave out details for more time with the characters which is what the show is all about.

Highly recommended. Here is the first EP on Crunchyrol. The first episodes for all anime are always in HQ on this site, then afterwards are standard. Now I use adblock to kill all the ads and if you don't have it already.. well.. go get it lol. Works great.

A friend of mine uses a very clever technique to try and get me hooked onto new animes. Simply by watching an action episode can do it so ill give it a go here. Ive been continuing the series since I posted this and I gotta bump this thread. This show is just REALLY good.

So give this a watch and see if it can hook ya.

personally, i'm sick of hard SF film being about the glory of exploration or the terror of exploration or challenges of exploration or some related stuff, in itself it's cool but i want to know the world of the scifi, which isn't always just about spaceship engines blazing and the experience of space and space accessories.

that said, you might enjoy Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise
