panoramic cockpit?

I believe the H.O.M.E. development thread has a wide angle camera based display in its new command pod using RasterProp. But based on personal experience with Render-to-texture, you're going to have issues with very high resolution texture based displays.

A good alternate to using RasterProp would be to use the built in camera system that the default pods use. Have your cockpit instrumentation float in front of your kerbal, with no interior walls modeled. If you want a 'activate main display' function, you would have to model the interior walls, and have a texture in place to make them 100% transparent.
