From the 0.23 release post:

Added 6-DOF device support for Windows only (Ready to implement support for OSX and Linux as soon as drivers become available)

An official linux driver exists for 3dconnextion devices, as well as an open source driver, so I'm a bit confused with the lack of linux support for this. Does KSP access 6dof devices through unity, and unity itself lacks support for these devices under linux?

Official linux driver: http://www.3dconnexion.com/service/drivers.html, select "linux" in OS dropdown

Open source driver: http://spacenav.sourceforge.net/
