The Final Rehearsal

THE FINAL REHEARSAL

It is not near future, but also not far future. The Kerbolar System has been colonised, but the art of interstellar voyages is not yet mastered by the Kerbal civilisation. On a side note, Kerbin is running out of resources - the planets of the Kerbolar system are all almost empty of Kethane. KSC started an interstellar program. The plan is to set up mining outposts in the Proxima Kentauri system - but first a rehearsal is needed. The Final Rehearsal. To prove if Kerbals can survive for tens of years while travelling light years at near-lightspeed as the warp drive is not being developed yet. To prove if Kerbals can live in time dilation and sleeper ships. To prove that Kerbals can get all the needed resources before the Warp drive will be developed in a hundred years from now. To make the megatons of Kethane that are being shipped to Kerbin right now not be the last ones.

But first, a rehearsal is needed, as i said. A final rehearsal.

THE GOAL

The goal is to launch a spacecraft at the maximum speed possible out of the Kerbolar system and make it spend maximal time outside of Jool's orbit. It should also return to Kerbin safely, and have the maximum amount of Crew possible.

The apoapsis around Kerbol and mission time must be as high as possible.

THE RULES

No HyperEdit and No MechJeb. That's it. However, any other mods may be used as long as they aren't cheaty. They obviously will be listed.

Star Trek mod or warp drive from Interstellar are not allowed. The warp drive is not invented yet on Kerbin.

Also, please don't give me a headache looking at ugly rockets. If the ship is large (it will be) it must be assembled in Orbit. EVERYTHING that isn't aerodynamically pleasing is launched using fairings - i recommend installing FAR so that it motivates you to do so. Procedural fairings are recommended.

Rockets don't need to look TOO futuristic - something like a "Hypernova" launch vehicle (size of Eiffel Tower) is good; although there can be a slight touch to make it not look like it's from the Kerpollo era. Think of 2050-2100.

Spacecraft MUST BE MANNED. You heard me? MUST BE MANNED. MUST BE.

THE POINTS

10 points per every million of kilometres of apoapsis.

10 points per every year of MET (Kerbin escape burn to landing on Kerbin).

10 points per every 10.000 meters per second as maximum speed. Rather vertical trajectories as seen from Kerbol are as such recommended.

5 points per every Kerbal transported and returned safely.

100 points if won't run out of electricity/other types of life support energy during flight. RTG's are recommended over Solar Panels to achieve this, you know the reason.

Up to 100 extra points by my personal judgement on design, creativity and special achievements.
