Shameless self promotion

Hi guys,

So I\'ve just returned home from an epic South America trip and I\'ve been writing down some of the better stories. Some of you may have noticed and perhaps even visited the site, it\'s in my signature. In my dreams I\'m famous and and rich just for writing up adventures, thousands of people visit my site in awe, adore me and stuff my bank account full of ad-monies. In reality, not so much. I\'ve got visitor numbers in the low double digits per day and only one crazy albeit adoring fan-stalker. I\'d like to see those numbers higher.

Short of just spamming you guys with \'GO VISIT AND READ MY SITE AND LIKE ME ON FB\' (you\'re welcome to none the less) I\'d rather ask if any of you have experience with these kind of things. Any tips, tricks or observations are very welcome and would be much appreciated. I\'m not a very technical SEO man, but I do understand the basic workings of the net.

Another possibility is that the site, the stories or just my writing suck. Criticism on that front is welcome too, even more so if it\'s constructive.

Join and participate in forums that would be interested in the writings on your site. Keep a link in your sig and just participate. No need to push your site on people, especially since it\'s just a blog and not a business. Don\'t forget to link new content on aggregator sites like reddit, digg, etc.

If the content is good they will return. If it stays fresh, they will continue to return.

Short of black SEO tactics, there\'s not much else you can do.

First off do something that interests the forums.(Such as what Capt\'n Skunky is doing.)

Second use all the ad money to advertise your sites with Google Ads.
