back at the forum. landed on the mun twice. quick question, got the lab mod in the career mode. you can place Kerbals in there, however how do I access it ,to conduct experiments? thanks for the help.....

The lab itself does not produce science points.

All it does is increase the science points for transmission from other experiments and clean out (reset) the goo canister and materials bay so they can be re-used.

Right-click on the lab module to access its features:

• Store data from experiments (just like a command pod, except you can store "the same" experiment multiple times)
  
• Boost transmission fraction for experiments (the option will show up anywhere you can see the experiment results, you don't have to store them in the lab first)
  
• Reset any single-use experiments that have been disabled

For the lab to work you need two Kerbals to occupy it.

When you review any experiment result, you get one more button there which allows you to send that result to the lab for processing.
