KRF Truck Racing League

Recommended Posts

Sooo we have...formula-one, truck racing, and we even had air-racing..... My only question is.... Why hasn't anyone thought of baja or off-road racing?

Kaja 1000 anybody?

Oo and ps

I think I finally have a proto type of my truck that not only looks similar to the original but handls farly well. I just have to tweak a few things and comply with all the lighting rules, and I should be good to go.

Actually, it would be better if we continued this after the forum reset, which will be after everyone's exams (probably).

Just a question for everyone, has anyone experimented with toe angles and camber? Maybe even caster?

I have. [removed]'s about to go down.

Formula K is looking a little dead, so I think trucks are the way to go.

Edit: ey, 300th!

i have experimented with toe angles...

but with TTwheels mod, it really makes the effect to the extreme.

without, it only applies when your rover or anything is about to roll over.

i made a small rover to do drifting around KSP.... (the engine is really REALLY powerful) without toe angles i need a ridicolous amount of width to not make it roll over. with 5 degrees toe angle, it's much more stable with WAY shorter wheel base width, but there's a downside. you have less contact with the ground, it's really easy to slide uncontrollably, too fast, and you flip over.

with toe angles. the option are 2. super stable, or, slide and flip all the way. you really need to have a balanced 50:50 front and back weight distribution for a stable car/rover. or with some exception, at most 60back:40front weight distribution

Even if the event is dead, what stops us from still posting our trucks?

infact, this thread inspired me to make one

and i decided it will be a Specialist vehicle

Say hello to the Victor TT-16! (and no, you won't get any points from guessing it is based off of a volvo)

l74TWin.png

Who needs a modded tow when you can have a stock one?(Also, whose Specialist/Mentally Advanced truck needs 10 wheels?) And yes, the solar panels are supposed to look like a license plate.

Anyway, i decided to make a European truck cause im Russian(would be good if someone decided to make a KamAZ 53215 instead of me)

Heres the engine:

KZNR2sk.png

3 micronodes to put stuff on,

1 standard NC for making muffins,

6 RTGs because holding down absolutely nothing will charge the batteries

1 Z-400 battery beause other than that, the truck only has 2 command pods ontop which it ejects away after the 2nd kerbal gets off the ladder

This tow truck can... well... tow anything with its 18.72 tons! dead tanks, rockets on a moving platform, 44 ton cargo

Yeah there are truck drivers making fun of it cause it carries stuff differently

But you know what, thats pure TRUCK RACISM!

Either that, or they are jealous because their trucks can't join the same type of truck!

EDIT: did a crash test at a speed somewhere between 21 and 22 m/s, only one of the ladders i used for the grill broke along with one wheel which caused kraken to break 3 of the 4 back wheels and later, then the same wheel that broke first, which i decided to quickly repair and swith to the truck itself before the kraken took control again. TECHNICALLY-SWEDISH QUALITY EVERYONE! (and if one of the wheels gets stuck in the truck, just do the X5 time warp)
