Double Claw Grabbing

Recommended Posts

so i sent up a ship with 2 claws on it (because it looked cool) thinking i could get a better, more stable grip on the roid. but only one would grip. so my suggestion is that you can grab one roid with multiple claws on the same ship. this also applies to docking if multiple docking ports don't already work (never tried it but it seems to be a similar mechanic to grabbing)

here is a pic of my ship after catching the roid, the claw on the right isnt attached (click image for full res)

its possible. but other things dont work in unity try putting 2 fuel tanks between 2 bi-couplers. only one node will work

EDIT: post partially retracted.

Multiple docking ports definitely work. As I understand it, so do multiple claws. Is the second one at too much of an angle to grab? You can test by releasing the first claw and trying to grab with the other.

Edit: Post by HarvesteR confirming multiple claw connections work.

I can confirm I was able to stick two claws to the same part. There were some strange effects accompanying it but it did hold the part by both points.

It required some wiggling, the claw won't work if you press it into the surface. It must be at exactly the right point. Also you need to attach them sequentially - attach one, release pivot, attach second one.
