So I was playing around in the asteroid capture scenario, and I accidentally clicked the tab for the Final Frontier mod. There, I noticed that Bob and Jeb's status was red, instead of the blue and green I'd seen. I moused over to see what it meant, and got this:

It means that earlier in the save they died.

Depending on your settings they can be perma dead, temporarily dead, or return immediately. Been like that for a while now...

FF is set to permadead, which is why they were still dead when the pic was taken. This is irrelevant, and you're missing the point. They died in the making of the scenario. Squad did some screwing around before submitting.
