My new plane explodes in runway

Recommended Posts

I was trying to make my version of the F-14 tomcat with the wings extended. I have two problems. The first one is that when I launch the vehicle shuddenly explosions. You can see it in the video Im going to post. Also When I try to land or take off the plane change the direction with no apparent reason. I think I could solve it puting the landing gear in the wings, but I didn't have time to do it now. I succesfully landed this plane once but was really difficult. Hope you can say me what is wrong and I will fix it, also started making planes and this was my second one but the first one didn't have this huge problems. Also I hope this is the right thread in this sub-forum I started in the forum yesterday :D

Part clipping is only half of the story. Parts do not collide with other parts of the same ship so as long as the ship is in one piece, there is no problem with clipping.

The plane has parts clipped, weak structure, and uneven height of landing gear.

Due to uneven height of landing gear, the game deploys it certain distance above the runway and it falls down

Due to its weak structure something snaps and a clipped part becomes detached from the plane

As the part becomes a separate "ship", it collides with whatever part of the plane it touches or overlaps. Which is quite a lot of parts since it is clipped to the plane. That starts a chain reaction.

So... I recommend to try to level the landing gear and make the structure more sturdy, e.g. by using struts.

Thanks for the quick responses :D. I changed the position of the landing gear to the wings and now works fine. Also I put more struts and now 10% of the times explodes (wich is acceptable). So thanks for the Help, problem solved. Next time when I do another plane I will use this information. :)

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
