Fuel Tank Transfer "Balance" Option.

Recommended Posts

I find it incredibly hard to balance fuel tanks manually, especially rocket fuel; as it contains 2 different fuel types. It would be great if there were three buttons instead of 2: Transfer IN, Transfer OUT, and BALANCE.

I use smaller tanks for that purpose. Transfer exact portion (1/2, 1/4, 1/8) of the tank by filling up smaller tank, then transfer that tank to the destination tank. It takes longer but it works.

Balance between two would not suffice anyway - soon you'd realize you need separate balancing for each type of symmetry, if not more.

There is TAC fuel balancer mod, that might do the trick for you, though.

Well balance could just follow symmetry - if I have three-way symmetry fuel tanks surrounding one then I could transfer from ALL of the radial tanks at the same time, thus it would remain in balance.

Alternatively there could be a slider on the fuel gage that could be set and it would drain/fill to that point. The biggest problem is that it's hard to stop the flow at the right point, so some greater control would fix the problem.

Actually, all you would need is to not have the fuel buttons vaanish when you select 3 or more tanks of the same type. If you press "out" on a tank, it will fill all other tanks selected evenly, if you select "In" it will draw from all other tanks evenly.

What is evenly? Proportional to how big they are, how full they are, or just equal amount from each?
