Where are the noobals at?

Heres a noob.

I started with playing ksp during 0.22 and I have yet to master so many things, like exploring the Joolian system, visiting Moho or Eeloo or even do complex missions that require more than one launch. However, I somehow enjoy the construction-part of the game at the moment more than the actual flying part, which isn't bad for me as I am confident that the experience i make now in building my vessels will help me once I come to the point that I stop being a kerbal engineer and become a kerbonaut.

KSP offers so many ways to play, and some awesome rocket-builders might suck at flying, and some elite kerbonauts might need help with building. Some are mediocre at anything and still enjoy the game.

I think there are very few real noobs in this game, and even fewer true experts, as the game lets the player decide about his own goals and offers many, many ways to achieve those goals, which is a major point that makes this game awesome and enjoayble as it is.

My friend has put in 200 hours in the game. But has only landed on the Mun 2 times, never landed on Minimus with anything and has never left Kerbin's SOI.

He plays the game only to build SSTOs and gets to orbit every now and then. Rarely docks and hardly goes anywhere but back to the KSC with them.

So don't feel like your the only noobal(good term lol), theres plenty out there :)

Maybe its because it takes a certain player to go on the forums and write things. Most low end "noobals" don't bother with forums, so consider yourself already above the low end haha.

Please..I just now finally landed a probe on another planet..and I had to crash my Probe station and all 4 landers that were attached into the eve's atmosphere just so I could get 2 of them to land....Of course there solar panels wouldn't open so they were dead in the water. Entry did significant damage to the probes..well because they were attached to other parts, parachutes were, opened stuff broke, you know kerbal stuff.

I have yet to return a kerbal safely from landing on the Mun or Minmus though I'm sure I can. I landed on the Mun only with kerbals but ugh decent stage got a little haywire and I ran out of fuel and well lost a few brave hero's. But I do have a 1500+ parts space station in Kerbin orbit that took 20 launches to make...I'm good at docking now at least :D

I suppose I'm a partial noob. Until maybe a couple weeks ago I had only landed kerbals on Mun and Minmus and probes on Eve. Then I started actually taking what I knew to aggressively land probes on all the bodies I could, and finally finished with Tylo the past weekend, and i landed my first manned mission outside of the Kerbin system on Duna as well. But I still have a LONG way to go to catch up to advanced players who take whole manned missions to Jool or build bases on Laythe and the like :D

Hello there.

I still very much consider myself a noobal despite having made a trip to Duna (didn't return but theoretically could have... started a new save, my Duna transfer window isn't open yet to return in the current save).

I think I'm on the cusp of transitioning out of Noobal and into Kompetent (but still no where near "Special" like so many awesome forum members here.

My first big leap in my current save game will be my Moho mission. I have two massive interplanetary ships which should each be packing enough DeltaV for the trip, 2 landers each, 1 processing lab (should have had 2 but I installed a core docking port upside down on the first ship - noobal move - second ship isn't done with construction. The goal is to get both ships into Moho orbit, use the flawed ship to refuel the first one, attack the capsules from the flawed ship landers to the second ship for the return and only fly one of the two ships back (to ensure my Delta V calcs have room for error.

I'm also about halfway through my first Minmas base (included too many extra parts on my modular design, can't finish the base without it killing my frame-rate, planning a new design for Mun and eventually Duna.

Moho, Jool, Eello, and Duna all follow each other by about a month separation, so I'm also working on updating my landers for Jool's moons and trying to get a working SSTO spaceplane which I can dock for Laythe exploration.

If even half of this goes to plan I'll consider myself no longer Noobal (but still newbish). I honestly expect to succeed at Duna, miss Moho, crash into Jool, and somehow get stranded on Eve (with no mission planned for that planet yet).

On the Asteroid front though - I captured an E class (it was 40 m/s outside of an orbit already, and added a C class in orbit of Kerbin (not named yet), a C class in orbit of Mun (Munberry), and an A class in orbit of Minmas (Micromas).
