Something isn't right about antennas available.

Hi. So I was planning to land on the duna for the first time and I tried to make the lightest and the most efficient lander possible.

I am pretty much done, except 1 thing.

The smallest antenna (communotron 16) has the bandwidth of 0.8M/s and requires 10EC/Packet.

The biggest, fanciest and heaviest antenna has the bandwidth of 0.36M/s and requires 30EC/Packet.

It seems like the biggest antenna is actually worse in every single way (weight, speed, energy consumption) compared to the small one.

Am I missing something, or the big antenna is just useless?

The bandwidth figures are calculated wrong (the large antennas actually transmit faster), but the extra power and fact you can use multiple of the small antenna make them of questionable value.

As of 0.23.5, the Communotron 16 and 88-88 (the advanced dish) are actually massless (due to the PhysicsSignificance setting), but the DTS-M1 (the first dish) is not.

I always imagined that they might add distance limitations, so even if the larger antennas performed worse, they would still be necessary in longer-distance interplanetary missions. But who knows, they may never both with that.

Or rather than installing a completely new mod that requires a whole new in-game infrastructure to use and without the hotfix is pretty bug-filled, you could just download a mod that edits just the antennaes and their ranges.
