The time is finally here. We have worked hard to get to this point. We have learned all we need to. The kerbals are now confident. After a few fatalites in some past missions, 7 brave Kerbanauts will take on the near impossible dream of landing on Duna. I present..........

DunaONE

Five unmanned rockets will carry the necessary groundwork to Duna. All automated and provides a welcoming feel to the Kerbs when they arrive.

1. NASA SLS heavy will carry the Biogardens and Greenhouse in 2 launches

2. Deep Space will launch 2 more modules such as the habitat and science module.

3. NASA SLS will lift the heaviest load of the mission and carry a pressurized rover, cargo platform, and an observatory

.. All launches are spaced out 3 days to give each rocket time to Duna inject properly

Three More unmanned vessels will be launching into Kerbin orbit to make way for orbital construction of the massive Discovery ship that will take the manned crew to Duna. The Russian Titan will be lifting the 3 sections in place. Leaving 1 crew member to EVA the 3 sections together using struts.

1. Command module/storage

2. Habitat/Quarters/Docking bays 1-3

3. Stardrive/solar truss and engine cluster(housing 3 nuclear propulsion and 8 ions)

Space X Falcon 9 heavy lifts off 6 crew members on a glorious day of voyage and science. The Dragon capsule will dock to the Discovery and then be used later as a Duna lander and again as a lander for Kerbin return.

The unmanned drop offs scattered on the Duna surface. Later to be winched together in a base.

Well as of writing this the Kerbs are just outside the SOI of Minmus. In 13 days they need to make an adjustment burn when they have reached Kerbol AP. This story will continue. This story will be told. This story will have videos to come :D

We have arrived ! Well now we must do an orbital injection before we start shuffling crew over to the Dragon. Fuel was pretty low. Wont have enough to get back. But no worries, an ATV tanker will refuel it 10 days prior to departure :)

That is a cool rover! Any tips for how to get things to land so close to each other in planets with an atmosphere btw? I always struggle to know how much to overshoot to deal with aerobraking (don't use any mods atm)

thanks...by using MEchjeb I was able to get all the parts to land with it 100-200m of eachother. It was a chore but it pays off in the end.
