The most rage-summoning crash/bug/failure you have ever had in ksp?

After a long, long, ramshackle tour from Duna surface and back, the game bugged out on Kerbin re-entry and I fell 'through' the planet, exploding. Had to've had at least 900 science points on board. This was actually what started me on using quicksaves.

Quicksaves now save me a lot of stress on bugs.

But with quicksaves: I once spent 8 minutes establishing orbit around Jool without looking at the ship view, and then quicksaved once I did it. I then switched to ship view and realized the weird bug that caused my ship to spin wildly when entering Jool's SOI before, that I thought nothing of after straightening out, removed my landing struts somehow. I quicksaved and now have no landing struts...

Minor annoyance when my altimeter freezes...

But when I took base parts to Duna and my "tractor" rover's docking ports decided they wanted to lose magnetism and ability to dock, that's when I felt rage. Reloading didn't help. Maybe I broke one? But I'm pretty sure it was a glitch.

Due to some configuration of the mods I had, this one particular spacecraft that was vital to my fuel mining effort would spin wildly and experience phantom forces whenever I tried to dock it in munar orbit. The issue was so disconcerting that I ragequit multiple times after finally docking, and sometimes not even then!

I do not have a real gaming PC, only a laptop meant for school, so it tends to heat up quickly, which forces me to only play the game in short sessions to make sure the computer doesn't get damaged or crash/corrupt my game.

Apparently if you quicksave while hanging onto the upside down ladder of a crashed ship on the Mun... When you quickload you fall off the ladder and die. Maybe it's just me.

Finally getting my EVE lander to return to Kerbin.

Last save, and quicksave, just before re-entry.

Coming in for the landing. 2700m... 2600m... 2500.... hellooooo desktop!

Reload.

2700m... 2600m... 2500.... hellooooo desktop!

REINSTALL, reload, 2700m... 2600m... 2500.... hellooooo desktop!

For some obscene reason my ship, in its saved configuration, cannot approach the ground closer than 2.5km without crashing game.

Only solution: Installed hyperedit, put it back in orbit.

Cried long tears at having to cheat, so near to the end of a 100++ hour investment in fair play.

Do many many MANY tests..

The cause of the problem?

Having 4-symmetry drogue parachute, surrounded by 6-symmetry radial chutes closer than 2m from the probe core, cause memory leak if drogues deply first.

Solution: Hyperedit it right back where it came from, falling at 800m/s around 8km..

Don't deploy the drogues. Deploy radials, have them rip RIGHT OFF my lander, then deploy drogues.

Do a 60m/s dive&roll by Jeb carrying my precious science data.

Sheesh!

Back in 0.23 I had this recurring issue where I could send a craft anywhere in the system, perform a mission and come home with no issues at all... Until I tried to land. Everything would work perfectly until I hit about 1,200 meters and then the game would spontaneously crash. Luckily after this happened a few times I learned to quicksave right before the deorbit burn!

Wise words there. Quicksave just before the deorbit burn.

It took the lesson above for me to learn this. :(
