Resurrecting your dead Kerbals

Recommended Posts

I figured out how to do this the other day after losing Bill Kerman in a horrific crash. It's very easy. In fact, it's probably already been explained before, but I'll share it, just in case.

1. Close the game program.

2. Open you file explorer and browse to your KSP root folder.

3. Open the Saves folder and open the name of the game you were playing.

4. Open the file called "persistent". If you are on a windows computer it will tell you that it doesn't recognize the file type. Click, "pick program from list", and select notepad and un-check the box that says "make this the default program". (No idea how to do that part on a Mac....)

4. Press CTRL+F (opens the find menu) and search for the name of your kerbal (just the first name, in my case I searched for Bill).

5. When you find him in the file his Status line will be 3. Change it to 0.

6. Save the file and re-open the program.

Ta-da! Good as new. :)

Enjoy!
