How do you mine the water kethane???

I found out that the water ones are particularly challenging considering the mechanic that not much of us like I'm sure of Water Kills so stay out of it.

So I thought that if you dropped a KAS winch from a boat or something, Holding the drill but extend the drill then lower it down... but is there a more simple way?
